History - 2001

Enter the Ravettes

The early months of 2001 see changes -- big changes. Founding band member Baer "Naked" Tierkel, VP of Worldwide Marketing and part-time gospel revival leader, retires from the software industry after 10 years of service to PeopleSoft to spend more time with his family and start an ice cream shop/blues palace/flophouse on Solano Avenue in Berkeley. Raving diva Dalia "Diablo Dal" Chatterjee takes a leave of absence to get married & "settle down." Rick "Philly" Frank splits to nurture the orange & grapefruit trees in his P-Town backyard. Dan "Mixmaster" Williams hears the siren call of, er, Utah, and moves there with his family. Camille "Sir Galahad" Soblavarro gets busy with his other musical commitments.

The Raving Daves -- flexible as ever, like PeopleSoft pure internet applications -- regroup. Brian "Trigger" Kelly takes over the mixing console; Dave "The Rave" Reik joins the rave, bringing an awesome talent to the keyboard side of things. And ... for something completely new and different, we enlist FIVE new chick singers for a more representative band gender balance and soulful vocal-heavy sound complete with wicked dance steps. Look out, corporate America -- you ain't seen nothin' yet!

Please welcome to the Raving Daves lead singers Peggy "Pork Chop" Gill and Lynn "Big Mama Whiplash" Whitlach -- and the to-die-for Ravettes: Dana Leipold, Carol Reynoso, and Erika Voelker.
